The company originally supplied adhesives, expanding the range to include sanding solutions and then wood finishes such as paints and lacquers. This enabled them to provide a wider offer to their target market of kitchen and bedroom fitters, boat builders and exhibition manufacturers. They supply directly to the trade across the UK and have built strong relationships with their customers over the years by providing an outstanding service particularly their technical support.
“In the early days a lot of time was spent on, talking to customers and helping them with any issues they were having, to help them to find solutions. I really believe that this work along with strong marketing to push out the messages around our USP helped us to grow so successfully.”
The type of products demanded by clients is changing as more people move to water based solvents and chemicals to reduce the negative impact on the environment. However, it does take longer to dry so being able to deliver products quickly gives Redwood an edge on other companies.

Redwood got in touch with the GetSet Solent team to find out if the support they were offering could help them with their plans for growth for the business. They established that a grant could help them to upgrade their current warehouse to enable it to hold more stock and to improve efficiency within the company. They also wanted to purchase a forklift truck and employ an extra salesperson as well as new equipment.

Redwood is planning for good growth over the next three years through an increase in market share which he intends to support with continued support for customers and providing products which meet their needs quickly.
