{"id":5769,"date":"2022-07-07T10:21:16","date_gmt":"2022-07-07T10:21:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.getsetforgrowth.com\/?p=5769"},"modified":"2023-01-12T16:52:34","modified_gmt":"2023-01-12T16:52:34","slug":"emanuel-squires","status":"publish","type":"success_stories","link":"https:\/\/www.getsetforgrowth.com\/coast2capital\/success-stories\/emanuel-squires\/","title":{"rendered":"Emanuel Squires"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-spacer stk-block-spacer stk--no-padding stk-block stk-edfcedc\" data-block-id=\"edfcedc\"><style>.stk-edfcedc{height:60px !important}<\/style><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>A lifelong Arsenal supporter, Emmanuel Squires is taking inspiration from his love of football for a new business venture which he hopes will <em>\u201cbring the game to the ride, all day, all the way.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With a career in IT, it was inevitable that Emmanuel would utilise technology in his idea to create an app which allows sports fans to share rides to games in a new way. <em><strong>\u201cI knew that I had the skills to develop a prototype app, even though I had never created one before,\u201d<\/strong><\/em> stated Emmanuel.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lockdown proved a key point in his life, as working at home, he had more time to think about the initial idea which sprang from a conversation with a friend involved in sport, who struggled to find travel options for games which were cost effective but also added to the enjoyment of the game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Having developed the app, Emmanuel realised that he also needed to brush up on the business skills required to launch a business and this was where GetSet for Growth Coast to Captial came in. Their programme of practical workshops combined with information sessions and 1:1 support meant that he could increase his business knowledge at the same time as finding out about the Invest4 grant funding available through The Business Hothouse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>The GetSet for Growth team helped me to develop my business plan and prepare the financial documents I needed to make my business work.
