Lydia, Sally and Jenny from GetSet for Growth delivered sessions on business strategy and finance to the \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/www.freelancemum.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Freelance Mum<\/a>\u2019 network as part of their first ever micro business retreat!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Based in Bristol, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.freelancemum.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Freelance Mums<\/a> was set up by Faye Dicker as she identified a gap in the market for child friendly, networking events. Eversince then, Faye has run two monthly meet ups, where up to 40 mums and their little ones are able to meet and network with likeminded freelancers and small business owners. Fun, crafty activities are provided to keep children entertained and each event includes a \u2018netwalk\u2019, as well as coffee, cake and a speaker.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.getsetforgrowth.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/Audience-in-tent.jpg\" alt=\"Audience in tent\" class=\"wp-image-3693\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.getsetforgrowth.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/Audience-in-tent.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.getsetforgrowth.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/Audience-in-tent-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.freelancemum.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Freelance Mum<\/a> membership also offers the opportunity to become a part of the online community via \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/FreelanceMum01\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Mothership<\/a>\u2019 a Facebook group directly aimed at providing ongoing support and networking.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" src=\"https:\/\/www.getsetforgrowth.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/Lydia-presenting-SM-1.jpg\" alt=\"Lydia presenting\" class=\"wp-image-3692\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" src=\"https:\/\/www.getsetforgrowth.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/Lydia-CampfireSM.jpg\" alt=\"Lydia at the campfire\" class=\"wp-image-3691\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;\u2018GetSet&nbsp;takeover\u2019,&nbsp;saw the GetSet for Growth team share their expertise to a marquee full of enthusiastic business women, while the Dads and children enjoyed organised outdoor activities. Over three hours, they covered strategy, provided business case studies and finance essentials for small businesses. It was information packed and yet easy to digest, with relevant and positive examples. It was a real joy to work with them, they were professional and personable from start to finish, I wouldn\u2019t hesitate to book them again for future projects.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Amy from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.anorakcat.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Anorak Cat Web Design<\/a> outlined how much the workshops helped her:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>I came feeling that I would never understand finance, but Jenny explained everything so well that I felt I could finally \u2018do\u2019 finance for myself. I can\u2019t believe the support can continue. Maths makes me cry and you made it all makes sense!
